I have 34 years of experience in the valve industry, ranging from manufacturing to installation and commissioning to sales and now running my own company.”

”Upon leaving school, I joined the Bank of Scotland before moving to Australia, where I worked for National Australia Bank and Westpac as a Customer Service Officer. Since returning to the UK, I have worked in different sectors, including childcare and estate agency. I am responsible for all financial issues within the company as well as administration.”

”I gained an honours degree in Mechanical and Electronic Systems Engineering in 2011, after which I worked with BME for a short time. I then moved to Australia for a year, where I gained experience in the process industry working for Bürkert Fluid Control Systems. Since returning to the UK, I have continued to work in the family business, progressing to General Manager and now Company Director. I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the business, coordinating all of the departments and making sure my team continue to provide the best service possible to our customers.”

”I am accountable for overseeing daily sales and quotations, ensuring the timely processing and completion of orders, and conducting internal audits. I hold a BEng (Hons) from Glasgow University and an MEng from the Open University.”

”I have worked in the warehousing/distribution industry for the last 40 years, 22 of those as a warehouse manager in various sectors. Starting in the food industry, then moving on to heavy haulage, transport planning/logistics, and now I work for BME and engineering supplies within the engineering and process industry. I also manage the warehouse team, ensuring all safety checks are carried out and orders are correctly packaged and sent to our customers.”

”I have been a part of the team at BME since 2019. My responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day sales and enquiries, preparing quotations (including project quotes), processing orders, and managing stock. We all work together to ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained, and to ensure that the customer experience is as positive as possible. When required, I also assist with the assembly of our actuated valve packages in our warehouse, and I am certified to operate a forklift truck. With an honours degree in Quantity Surveying, as well as Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications. I have over 5 years of experience in the process industry and enjoy learning and developing my skills and knowledge every day.”

Our new website has shifted our strategy, opening up a fresh revenue stream. I hold a Communication Design degree and am working on a DMI Specialist certification in Strategy and Leadership, excited to use my skills to drive our marketing and e-commerce efforts forward”

While I am relatively new to the process industry, I bring with me previous experience and knowledge in pneumatics, including solenoid valves, pneumatic cylinders, and air preparation.”

”After leaving school, I studied beauty therapy at college and worked as a beautician for a few years. I then went travelling around Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia and stayed in Australia for a year. I have two children and between being a mum, I trained to become a cabin crew and worked for TUI. Recently joined BM Engineering as an Accounts Assistant and look forward to the challenge the role will bring.”
